Vaadin & enterprise web

I migrate business applications that have to stay live in production. Twelve years of it.

• I bring Framework 6/7/8, Swing, SWT and Struts applications onto Flow 25 incrementally, with the application live in production the whole way.
• Behind the UI: Spring Boot with Spring Data and Spring Security, REST, and Hilla where a JavaScript front end is wanted.
• I build retrieval-augmented AI assistants into customer applications.
• I get called for the parts that stall these projects: single sign-on, real-time collaboration, threading and accessibility.

Embedded & low-level

I take boards from bring-up to a certifiable product.

• I write firmware and drivers in C/C++ on ARM and ESP32: bare metal, FreeRTOS or embedded Linux.
• I build real-time control over CAN/LIN, RS485 and Modbus, work to AUTOSAR where automotive asks for it, integrate PLCs and their HMIs, and commission on site.
• I deliver certifiable work: EN 62304 (medical), BSI TR-03109 crypto and PKI. Confident with a soldering iron and an oscilloscope.

Mobile

I build custom iOS and Android applications.

• I build process-control HMIs that run on customized Android tablets.
• I build animated 3D presentations for iPad, deployed on dedicated trade-fair units.
• I publish to the App Store and Play Store, or deliver straight onto your own devices; my own encryption app "PrivateVault" has been on the App Store since 2011.

Faster delivery, verified

I use AI to shorten delivery, and verification to keep the result correct.

• I write the specification, AI writes to it, and I verify the result against it.
• I generate code with AI and then verify it formally, and I take on AI-driven legacy-modernization work.

Leadership & communication

I get brought in when a project is in trouble.

• I lead troubled projects of up to 15 engineers, run projects and programs, mentor engineers and deliver training.
• I speak at conferences, and to technical and non-technical audiences alike, in English and German.
