Privacy Policy for PrivateVault

In short: PrivateVault does not collect, transmit, or share any of your data. Everything you enter stays on your device, encrypted, and under your control.

PrivateVault is developed by infraLeap (Enver Haase-Beer), based in Germany. You can reach us at info@infraleap.com.

Data We Collect

None. PrivateVault does not collect any personal data. The app has no user accounts, no registration, and no sign-in.

Data You Store in the App

Any notes you create are stored exclusively on your device in an encrypted file. Specifically:

Your notes are encrypted with AES-128 using Apple's CommonCrypto library before being written to disk.
The encryption key is derived from the password you choose.
The encrypted file resides solely within the app's sandboxed storage on your device.
Your data is never uploaded, synced, or backed up to any server.

Network Access

PrivateVault makes zero network connections. The app is entirely offline and does not communicate with any server, including our own.

Third-Party Services

The app contains no third-party SDKs, libraries, or frameworks beyond the standard iOS/macOS system frameworks provided by Apple. There is no advertising, no analytics, no crash reporting, and no tracking of any kind.

Device Permissions

PrivateVault requests no device permissions. It does not access your camera, photos, microphone, location, contacts, or any other system resource.

Data Sharing

Your data is never shared with anyone. There is no export, no share functionality, and no communication channel through which data could leave the app.

Data Retention and Deletion

Your data exists only on your device. It is removed when you:

Delete individual entries within the app, or
Delete (uninstall) the app from your device.

If you forget your password, the corresponding data cannot be recovered. This is by design.

Children's Privacy

Because PrivateVault collects no data whatsoever, it does not knowingly or unknowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

If we make changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Given the app's nature, material changes are unlikely.
